Pete Trevino Jr.
Pete Trevino Jr. started his entertainment career as a professional disc jockey in 1987. He has performed at hundreds of weddings and private events in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois and Texas. (He still performs at private parties when available.)
Trying many different entertainment avenues, he finally heard his calling in 1995. That was the year he booked his first announcing event for NWA professional wrestling. Pete was then asked to do the rest of their shows for that year. The shows included stops in Michigan, Toledo and Chicago. Announcing for the NWA lead to other wrestling promotions in the following years. Such as: Insane Championship Wrestling, Great Lakes Championship Wrestling, Bigtime Championship Wrestling and other small independent promotions. Pete is also responsible for forming Metro Pro Wrestling in 1998. MPW is still an active pro wrestling organization to this day. It brings in some veteran TNA/WCW/WWE wrestlers and also has a public access cable show called The Pro Wrestling Lockeroom.
It wasn't until 2005, when Pete started announcing for boxing. While in his first month working at United Airlines, there was a dispute between two of his co-workers. To entertain the rest of the workers Pete goes into his fight announcer mode and starts jokingly announcing.
After everything calms down, Taurrek Fikes (co-worker) asks Pete if he has ever announced professionally. He then proceeds to hand Pete his business card. Taurrek's card read, "KRONK Gym Detroit" - Head Trainer and matchmaker. Pete was then asked to do an amateur USA boxing event later that month. After that event, Pete became the official announcer for Detroit's legendary Kronk Boxing Team. This also lead to other boxing promotions such as: USA Boxing, Bill Kozerski's Fight Night, Banner Promotions and many others.
Pete has announced for countless matchups including world championships. He has announced on MaxBoxing.com, Comcast, FOX Sports, ESPN and ESPN2.
Pete's MMA announcing career didn't start until March 2008. After receiving a call from Matt Flynn of Xtreme Cagefighting Championship, he was anxious to start announcing for this new growing sport. Pete has been the official announcer for the XCC ever since. The XCC has put Pete in front of thousands and thousands of fans via their fight series of FOX sports as well as their worldwide webcasts on cagefightinglive.com The XCC has also lead to many other organizations and Pete has announced for them all. Matt Flynn has also used Pete in his King of the Cage events. Taking him to Ohio, Wisconsin, Florida and all over Michigan.
