Meet Chris Rabior
Michigan Combat Photography, est. 2008 is a division of Chris Rabior Photography, est. 2006.
I've been working as a professional photographer since 2006. I've been regularly published since then and have had my work appear in Real Detroit Weekly, The Record: Detroit's Music Journal, HOUR: Detroit, The South End New, and Six Degrees Magazine. I've worked with PictureThisDetroit, DetroitCity.com, and Detroit Metromix covering various events around Southeast Michigan. My work is represented by Alamy and MusicPictures stock libraries. I'm also a member of Exposure.Detroit and an avid Strobist.
Although I have studio lighting, I specialize in photography under natural lighting and low light conditions. I've pointed my lens at over 350 bands and my work has been featured on a number of fan sites, band websites, and social networks. I've covered college basketball, professional lacrosse, and professional rugby. Capturing a moment in fast motion with only existing light is both an art and a challenge. It's come to define my passion for photography.
An avid fan of mixed martial arts since seeing my very first UFC broadcast, I eagerly accepted the invitation to shoot an MMA event. I had the privilege of shooting the inaugural event for the XCC at the Emerald Theatre in January of 2008. After a break from covering MMA to finish my bachelors degree, I reconnected with Matt and the XCC and have been covering events since. I founded Michigan Combat Photography to serve as a portal to connect fans and fighters with photos from their Mixed Martial Arts events and to be the primary source for combat photography in Michigan. |
